Calculate National Early Warning Score
The NEWS 2 is a track-and-trigger early warning score system for the assessment of acute illness in adults based on a simple aggregate scoring system in which a score is allocated to six physiological measurements:
Respiration rate
Oxygen saturation
Systolic blood pressure
Pulse rate
Level of consciousness or new confusion
Temperature.
The score is then increased by 2 points for people requiring supplemental oxygen to maintain their recommended oxygen saturation.
